Service Description

Step into the glowing world of science! This course explores the fascinating principles behind what makes objects shine, glow, and light up in the dark. Students will experiment with the wonders of bioluminescence, fluorescence, and phosphorescence, uncovering the science that powers nature’s glow from fireflies to deep-sea creatures. Through exciting, hands-on activities, learners will: • Create glow-in-the-dark slime and explore how compounds and mixtures produce glowing effects. • Build a glow-in-the-dark lava lamp, testing how different light sources across the visible and non-visible spectrum (UV, infrared, and beyond) affect the glow. • Investigate living organisms that naturally glow, from glowing fungi to bioluminescent plankton. • Experiment with chemical reactions and UV wavelengths to see how energy transforms into visible light. Through hands-on experiments and interactive demonstrations, learners will: • Investigate compounds and mixtures that create glowing effects. • Explore how chemical reactions can release energy as light. • Use UV (ultraviolet) wavelengths to test how certain materials fluoresce. • Learn how scientists use glowing reactions in medicine, technology, and the environment.
